Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use this website or place an order with Henry Engineering.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Henry Engineering ("we", "us", "our") handles your personal information. We are based at 17 Lincoln Street, Minto NSW 2566, Australia. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. Information we collect
We collect personal information that you provide directly to us, including:
- Contact form submissions: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and the content of your message.
- Orders: your name, billing and delivery address, phone number, email address and order details.
- Payment information: card or payment details are entered directly with our payment providers (Snipcart and PayPal). We do not see or store your full payment card details on our servers.
We also collect technical information automatically when you visit the site, including:
- your IP address, browser type, device type and operating system;
- the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and the referring website;
- cookies and similar tracking technologies (see section 6).
3. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- process your orders and arrange delivery;
- respond to your enquiries and provide customer support;
- send order confirmations, shipping updates and other transactional communications;
- comply with our legal obligations (for example, tax records);
- improve our website, products and services;
- protect the website and our customers from fraud, spam and abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing emails unless you have specifically asked to receive them.
4. Who we share your information with
We share your personal information only with service providers who help us operate the website and fulfil orders, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their service. These providers are:
- Snipcart — our shopping cart and checkout provider. Snipcart processes order details on our behalf. See snipcart.com/legal/privacy.
- PayPal — our payment processor. PayPal handles your payment details directly. See paypal.com privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — provides website hosting, content delivery and security (including spam and bot protection on our contact form). See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Google Analytics — provides anonymised analytics about how visitors use the site. See policies.google.com/privacy.
We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law, for example in response to a court order or a request from a government authority, or to protect our legal rights.
5. Where your information is stored
Some of our service providers store data outside Australia (for example, in the United States or Europe). When this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Cookies and tracking
This website uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: set by Snipcart to remember the contents of your shopping cart, and by Cloudflare to keep the site secure. These cannot be turned off without breaking site functionality.
- Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics to measure how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on site, traffic source). The data is aggregated and anonymised.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking essential cookies will affect your ability to use the cart and checkout.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, plus any period required by law (for example, tax records must be kept for at least 5 years). When the information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. This includes using HTTPS encryption on the website, keeping software up to date, and choosing reputable service providers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal obligation we have to retain it;
- opt out of any marketing communications (we currently do not send any).
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal information in line with this policy or the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first using the details below so we can try to resolve the issue. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
