Since the 1950s

About Henry Engineering

Seventy years of precision engineering, from a Lakemba workshop in the 1950s to a modern facility in Minto.

History of Henry Engineering

Henry Engineering is a precision engineering business based in Minto, NSW, with over 70 years of experience dating back to the 1950s. Its founder was “Henry,” who later sold the company to a relative, Mr Joe Katz, and we purchased the business in April 2000. The business was originally based in Lakemba Street, Belmore, and we relocated it to Minto in 2003.

Henry Engineering has been one of the leading manufacturers of drill bushes, all types of dowel pins (known as “HEC” dowel pins), and precision ground punches for the tooling industry, offering a comprehensive precision grinding service to the manufacturing industry of Australia from its inception.

Today we are one of the few companies still offering a comprehensive precision grinding service in Australia. We have four centreless grinding machines, which gives us the edge over our competition.

Changing with the Times

In 2005, with many changes in the engineering market, we realised we needed to expand our facilities and installed a range of top-quality CNC machines — lathes and machining centres — which we are regularly updating.

With the wide range of experience from our team and equipment, we service a large group of industries, including, but not limited to:

  • Mining
  • Rail
  • Offshore Oil Rig Companies
  • Earth Boring Components
  • Defence
  • Automobile Industry
